Dear Dunning-Kruger stricken elitists, (Donnie Deutsch & his ilk.)
Perhaps you've convinced yourself that we "filthy, unvaccinated idiots" are somehow subordinate to you, but the only people you're reaching are the intellectually lazy members of society - yourselves.
Has it never occurred to you that perhaps we have examined the PUBLICALLY AVAILABLE data sets ourselves, and performed the basic math computations necessary to determine the risk that Covid presents to ourselves and people of our age demographic and health?
Perhaps we sought the opinion of the ACTUAL medical professionals who know us and our unique medical histories and have a vested interest in our well-being.
It's perplexing that labels on many over-the-counter medications and supplements suggest we seek our doctor's approval before taking them, yet when people like you and bureaucrat Anthony Fauci demand we take the shots, there's no mention of seeking our doctors' advice.
🤔 Weird.
And on the subject of "medical history," do you REALLY want to open that can of worms? Do you REALLY want people to be FORCED to disclose their medical history and conditions publicly?
You do understand that once YOU demand MY medical history, it's only a matter if time before YOUR medical history is up for public scrutiny and is weaponized against you.
In this time of rampant Cancel Culture, do you think that's wise? Or have you convinced yourself that you're immune?
Perhaps you are, but are your loved ones?
Lately, some have brought up mandating the Covid-19 "vaccines." They justify their desired government over-reach by bringing up the Small Pox vaccine mandate. However, a quick glance at the facts and their argument falls apart.
When the Small Pox vaccine was mandated, the disease's fatality rate was about 30%.
One in three people who contracted Small Pox died from it - regardless of age or pre-existing condition.
For CENTURIES, Small Pox wiped out ENTIRE FAMILIES.
There's no denying that Covid-19 is a serious and sometimes deadly disease, but given Covid's estimated 1.4% IFR, there's no serious comparison between the lethality and impact to society of Small Pox vs Covid 19. Anyone attempting to argue that the Small Pox vaccine mandate justifies a mandate for Covid-19 is lacking in knowledge, in honesty or both.
So call us "idiots" if doing so makes you feel all superior and virtuous, but recognize that your behavior has nothing to do with US or OUR shortcomings.
Sincerely,
The unvaccinated riff-raff
P.S.
Stay off my lawn
After the taking of this video, 2 of the 6 died. I don't know if it was Marek's, Newcastle, severe dehydration, or whether I accidentally poisoned them with the enzyme mix in their water. Turns out there are a lot of chicken diseases and it's all very gross.
Anyway, I have been doing my best to eliminate possible causes, and the other four still seem healthy, touch wood.
In keeping with the video just posted about a Mini Ice Age, we have had a VERY cold May here, with many late freezes. Chicks have to be kept very warm at this age, so I have brought them inside at night.
Learning as we go.
But I was wrong.
Video does really capture the intensity of the storm, but I had seen weather this bad before. Unfortunately, Ida was nowhere near finished. Conditions deteriorated rapidly after this.
I thought maybe we would catch the eye, so we'd have a temporary reprieve before the wind changed directions, but no such luck. We spent hour after hour in the eye wall as Ida wobbled a bit before shooting north.
We were told that there were local reports of 180 & 200 mph gusts, and I can believe it. The house shook & the noises were pretty scary. Not something I'm in a hurry to repeat.
Neither is a week without running water, power & cell service.
I'm thankful we didn't take on more water.
Secularism and democracy are not synonyms.
If they were foundationally democratic, secularists ought not to mind, after 500 years, if an overwhelmingly Christian populace voted in blue laws again, where ordinary commerce ceased on the Lord's Day. But if they are foundationally secularist, it doesn't matter to them if that's what society-at-large wants to do. They are still against it.

"The liberties of the individual are too precious to be left in the hands of a civic agnosticism."
--Douglas Wilson, Mere Christendom, p. 5
"I argue here for a principled abandonment of the disastrous experiment of secularism, and for a corporate confession of the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, and all done in such a way as to preserve and protect our liberties. This no doubt raises questions, and hence this book."
--Douglas Wilson, Mere Christendom, Preface, p. xi
